The American Academy Nicosia is an Examinations Centre for Cambridge International Examinations, Edexcel Examinations, ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence) and The London Chamber of Commerce Examinations. The Academy is an authorised centre for these boards and all the examinations are administrated and taken on the premises.
Students following GCSE and IGCSE courses will be taking examinations in 8 subjects and additionally in Religious Education all students will follow the course but the GCSE examination is optional. It is expected that all students take external examinations in the subjects they have studied for two years.
To enter Year 12 to follow AS courses students are expected to gain at least 5 subject at grade C or above. The norm is for students to select 4 subjects at AS and to drop to 3 at A2 in Year 13. Year 12 and 13 students are expected to take external examinations. Successful completion of Year 13 entitles the awarding of an Apolytirion which is validated by the Ministry of Education and Culture. All our students move into Higher Educational institutes in Cyprus, Europe and further abroad,

We are particularly pleased with the GCSE/IGCSE grades this year where 83% of all grades were A* to C and 87% of the candidates gained 5 or more passes at grades A* to C.
